HOW TO HELP
 
 

Tacppd team use tacppd developing process for learning, train skills and for fun. Also we proud to do something interesting and useful. We open for any new idea. Also we open for any new person who can join to our team, or who has own ideas and wish to realize it. Write to tacppd phorum, or email directly to Roman Volkov (rv at tacppd dot org) for join to development process. We do not have strong planning, but we have several real networks where tacppd will use when it will be ready. So all functionality and all planning based on requests of this networks.

We need in help - in testing zone, where tacppd can be installed and working with or without network devices, because i can't use tacppd now in live network so i doesn't have normal testing environment. So if you provide me access to any testing environment with server and may be one or several Cisco or other vendor network devices you will help this project very much.

For help us you can

  • Create tacppd test zone with server and several vendors network devices, do testing or provide access to this network for us
  • Download and test tacppd, try it with several types of devices, and send bug reports to us. Due to lack of time we may not be able to do fixes immediately, but we will get them done.
  • Write bug fixes and patches, or send your comments and examples.
  • Send comments about features you will need (or would like) in real networks.
  • Help me with any flash memory devices which are supported by Linux - i have no experience with it, but for embedded tacppd version we need it to be part of the test environment.

    How to be a tacppd developer
    So, get the latest CVS version (from Download section), have a look at the code, and see if there is something you'd like to tangle with. Contact the Tacppd Developer's mailing list, Feature Requests system, Bug Track system (available via Tacppd SourceForge project page ) or Tacppd Phorum and we'll try to set you up. Don't forget to have a look at our Developer Guide . This page includes some of the design documents, along with a set of recommended coding references.

    If you are a skilled Tacppd user, you might want to help out with the documentation effort. So, if you know how to use Tacppd, or want to learn, read the Developer Guide (available from the documentation page), which contains information on how to contribute to the documentation effort.
